Thing #6

Interesting to me was to learn about the many tools of communications. I don't spend a lot of time at the computer except at work, so I can see how is could be a time drain (specially when there are lots of e-mail messages). I liked the section on e-mail productivity hints and e-mail etiquette and to understand the importance of e-mail policy and etiquette.
We at MCPL use some of this tools. E-mail to notify our patrons about overdue notices, hold, and inquires.
I have use text messaging but have no knowledge that we use it at MCPL to communicate with other libraries.
Web conferencing will be useful to deliver info to multiple learners in a class, lecture etc.
I believe some schools are using this tool of communication to teach others a foreign language.
Why not use CATS? How about it Phil? If you are not able to be present, you can give a class via web conferencing.
