Thing # 9
I use Google Docs.in this 9th things. I like it that I could learn to use the tools (colors and different letter form to edit this document). As to what would the Founding Fathers would think about this. Editing the document would have been easier for them. Or at least to express the correct words and give it the meaning that they wanted to get across to the people.

Thing #6
Interesting to me was to learn about the many tools of communications. I don't spend a lot of time at the computer except at work, so I can see how is could be a time drain (specially when there are lots of e-mail messages). I liked the section on e-mail productivity hints and e-mail etiquette and to understand the importance of e-mail policy and etiquette.
We at MCPL use some of this tools. E-mail to notify our patrons about overdue notices, hold, and inquires.
I have use text messaging but have no knowledge that we use it at MCPL to communicate with other libraries.
Web conferencing will be useful to deliver info to multiple learners in a class, lecture etc.
I believe some schools are using this tool of communication to teach others a foreign language.
Why not use CATS? How about it Phil? If you are not able to be present, you can give a class via web conferencing.

Thing 2 (continuation)
I have to admit that when I first learned about doing 23 things, I was a bit concern but it seems that I learn something new every time. By participating in 23 things I hope to be more knowledgeable about the many facet of this program. I hope not only to benefit from it but in the long run help our patrons and meet the changing needs of our library users. As I read more about Web 2.0 it empowers me to see the benefits and the need to change my attitude to be able to deal withthe changes of libraries of tomorrow.
What I'm looking foward in 23 things is to meet new discoveries with an open mind and share what I learn.

Number 2 thing
How I see Web.2 is that exist only because of changing technology. It can take you where you want- allow you to experiment and see what you what you can come up with. I would not be surprise if other institution and organizations beside libraries would adopt this type of change.
And for us to keep up with this change it require of us to learn or be enlighten and accept that times are ever changing. Hope is not a face. Is like get on the van wagon or you'll be left behind.
To some of us that are in the baby boom bracket may feel intimidated and uncomfortable by this changes but we have to be willing to change to keep up with technology.- And who say, you cann't teach an old dog new tricks.- We are getting older not death.
